William Gaillard



William Davis Gaillard is the Chair of Neurology and Neurophysiology at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC, Professor of Pediatrics and Neurology at the George Washington University, and Professor of Neurology at Georgetown. His clinical research focuses on the use of advanced structural and functional imaging techniques to improve epilepsy outcome and to investigate the effect of childhood epilepsy on brain structure and function with a recent emphasis on cognitive systems. He is past chair of the International League Against Epilepsy’s Diagnostic Commission, past chair of the Pediatric Epilepsy Surgery Task Force, and has served on their Pediatric Commission.  He is the incoming president of the American Epilepsy Society for 2020.
