Romina Moavero

 

 

Romina Moavero is a child neurologist and psychiatrist working in Rome, both in a hospital and academic setting. Since the medical degree she mainly focused her clinical research on refractory epilepsy and tuberous sclerosis, as well as on neuropsychiatric comorbidities of epilepsy, such as intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. She is also greatly interested in developmental trajectories of infants and children at high risk for neurodevelopmental disabilities. She participated to different international trials evaluating the efficacy and safety of everolimus on different manifestations of tuberous sclerosis complex (subependymal giant cell astrocytomas an renal angiomyolipomas) and is now local study coordinator for long-term prospective study evaluating clinical and molecular biomarkers of epileptogenesis in a genetic model of epilepsy - tuberous sclerosis complex (EPISTOP).
She participated to several national and international conferences giving talks on these subjects. She published more than 55 articles on peer reviewed international journals and indexed on PubMed.
